The Stereopocket was a cartridge-based stereo filmstrip viewer manufactured in Florence, Italy by 3Diland. 3Diland was a company started by MUPI, a manufacturer of educational and optical toys, at the suggestion of Roberto Gavioli, the owner of Gamma Film, an animation studio famous for television commercials and cartoons (Bertani 2026).
The cartridges held around 50 stereo pairs. The user advanced the film using the black slider on the top right side of the viewer. Rewinding required removing the cartridge and rewinding the film with a small popup lever on one reel. The viewer came in a box with instructions and a demo cartridge. Additional cartridges came in blister packs holding one film. The blister pack included a pamphlet with instructions and a description of the images (Clatworthy 2026).
